There are a variety of reasons why you may be asked to provide your Social Security number (SSN): 

For Sportsbook and Casino

• SSNs are used to verify your identity for regulatory purposes.
  • In addition, you will be asked to complete an IRS Forms W-9 or W-8BEN after a Big Win. This information will be used by DraftKings to prepare informational reporting tax forms (i.e., IRS Form W-2G).

For Daily Fantasy Sports

• You may be required to provide your SSN in certain cases, specifically when you have problems with identity (ID) verification. The SSN helps DraftKings verify your identity and prepare informational reporting tax forms (i.e., IRS Form 1099-Misc).

For taxation purposes

• For Sportsbook and Casino you are required to provide their SSN for taxation purposes related to a reportable event.
